Cannabis and Women's Health

Anecdotally, more women are turning to cannabis to help manage a number of health and wellness concerns. Cannabis is being used for menopausal symptoms, period pains, premenstrual syndrome and endometriosis.

Although there is very little published research in these areas, there is a large interest in cannabis specifically for menopausal symptoms. These symptoms can include hot flashes, irritability, and mood fluctuations. In traditional medicine, there are limited medication options to manage menopausal symptoms. This has resulted in a significant interest in this area for considering cannabis as an alternative approach.

Cannabis’ role in women’s health is an exciting area of research that may reveal several potential uses.
